Thank you for your email of 27 July 2011 in which you ask, "Please let me know if you as the WG Auditors have any meaningful figure of public moneys used for all Welsh Language cost centres?"
While we hold expenditure information obtained from the Welsh Government, this is not structured so as to readily identify Welsh Language items. Certain items could be identified as Welsh language-related, such as grant provided by the Welsh Government to the Welsh Language Board, but generally Welsh language costs are not distinguishable from other costs.
Please note that we have a policy of publishing in a disclosure log (on the internet) information that we provide in response to requests (including explanations of why information is not held) where we consider that this in the public interest. We will not, however, publish personal information if this would be unfair and so breach the first data protection principle. In line with this, we will generally not disclose the identity or other personal information of requesters. We will, however, disclose the identity of requesters if this is in the public interest and doing so would be fair, such as in the case of holders of public office. If you have any concerns regarding inclusion of my response to you in the disclosure log, please let me know.
If you would like any clarification or have further questions, please email or phone me.
Yours sincerely,
Martin Peters
