In addition, Red Sea House provided a community space for the use of the wider local community, in particular members of the local Somali community. The Association employed Somali speaking support workers and had tailored its services to meet the needs of residents and of the local community. The Association had developed Red Sea House as a focus for local community activity and had promoted a wide range of events, such as employment and benefits advice. In consultation with the local community in Butetown, the Association was putting together a lottery bid to develop Red Sea House as a facility for the local community.
