The announcement was made a short while ago by the National Assembly for Wales and is subject to final approval by the Queen.
Gillian Body has a strong track record in the field of audit, with 28 years experience at the National Audit Office (NAO) and Wales Audit Office (WAO). She previously held the post of Assistant Auditor General for Wales at the NAO and, for the past five years, has held senior management positions within the WAO.
Gillian will fulfil the role of Auditor General while the process to appoint a permanent successor is underway. The National Assembly has indicated that the appointment of a permanent Auditor General for Wales is likely to take several months.
