The Association hosted a Victim and Witness Support Scheme which operated in partnership with Cardiff Community and Taff Housing associations, and Victim Support South Wales, and was grant funded by the Assembly Government.
The scheme provided a Confidential Support Service to provide support to tenants experiencing antisocial behaviour. Support available included provision of practical advice and information as well as one-to-one support for victims. As well as providing support to individuals, the project was conducting research into why people do not report incidents of antisocial behaviour and why they do not take up other support services which are already available. The project had an active group of tenants who supported the project and each other. In addition, because many perpetrators are vulnerable in some way, the project has been able to link in with support agencies, thereby avoiding enforcement action and potential homelessness. The project won the RaceActionNet Award in 2006.
