Inefficient under floor and electric storage heating systems have been replaced at two of its secondary schools and one primary school. Inefficient hot water and heating systems have been replaced in approximately 20 per cent of Isle of Anglesey County Council's primary schools over the last two years under a rolling programme of replacement.

Isle of Anglesey County Council has a policy to incorporate energy and water efficiency into new build. This includes:

• natural ventilation systems;
• grey water recycling systems;
• solar hot water;
• photovoltaic collection systems;
• small-scale wind turbines;
• biomass boiler schemes; and
• ground source heat pump systems.
