Definition of good governance:

Good governance is a prerequisite for every public body to deliver sustainable, value for money and quality services in a transparent manner. Good governance involves ensuring that the States of Guernsey is doing the right things, in the right way for the right people, in an open, honest, inclusive and timely manner.

What is this about?

Members of the public in Guernsey are being invited to have their say on how the States of Guernsey should improve the way it does its business.

People are being asked to contribute by attending a public meeting or by responding to a short survey.

The Public Meeting

The States' Public Accounts Committee wants to know what people think about each of the six findings in the Auditor General for Wales' recent report on Good Governance in the States of Guernsey.

The public meeting gives people the opportunity to participate more fully in the next stage of the Public Accounts' Committee's review. It takes place on 14 January 2010 at 6:30pm at St Sampson's High School on the Island.
