The Auditor General for Wales is developing a new strategy for the external audit certification of grant-funded expenditure in Wales and is asking grant-paying public bodies and grant recipients to share their views on the future direction of the Wales Audit Office's grant work.

The three aims of the proposed strategy are:
• to set a clear direction for all aspects of grants certification work;
• to develop a more efficient approach to grant claim certification; and
• to provide a more seamless service for audited bodies by further integrating grants certification work with other financial and performance work
