The annual award is presented for innovation and excellence in the field of audit and always attracts a wide variety of entries from a range of sectors including local government, health, housing and education.
The award was given for the comprehensive work we have conducted on fleet management in Wales. This included an audit of fleet management arrangements at 50 public sector bodies, resulting in individual reports to those organisations. We also issued a national briefing report summarising our findings and hosted a series of events, including a conference in November at Cardiff SWALEC stadium.
We have also produced an online good practice guide on fleet management, complete with case studies, A to Z directory, self assessment tools and other guidance. This can be found on The Good Practice Exchange area of our website by following this link.
