Education and skills

As the public spending watchdog for Wales it's our job to provide assurance on whether the millions of pounds of public money spent on education and skills are spent objectively.

To help improve the delivery of education and skills, we publish independent reports recommending how local authorities and the Assembly Government can improve and provide better education services and offer value for money.

In the past, we have published reports on school funding, work based learning and staff sickness at further education institutions.

We work in partnership with other inspectorates such as Estyn, and join their teams to carry out inspections of local authority education services.
