Details about the staff numbers can be found in the Invitation to Tender on Page 6, which provides an overview of locations. It is not intended to be prescriptive as some staff may work from multiple offices or from home.
The estimated value is roughly £45,000-£65,000 total over the life of the contract dependent on services offered. Wales Audit Office is unable to provide a closer estimate as it is based on staff take-up of the service and fluctuations to eligible staff numbers. The frequency we are proposing to offer tests are:
- Employees over the age of 50 - Annually
- Employees over the age of 40 - Bi-annually
- Employees under the age of 40 - 3 yearly
Q. Please provide a breakdown of the number of employees within each age group.
A. Female 70 who are under 40 48 who are over 40 and under 50 21 who are over 50
Males 54 who are under 40 43 who are over 40 and under 50 57 who are over 50
Q. Is it anticipated that the Account Manager is based out of the Wales Audit Office, and to this extent, will there be use of the Wales Audit office facilities ie work station, phone, computer? A. The Account Manager will work from the Health Screening Service provider’s premises, no facilities will be provided by the Wales Audit Office.
Q. In the case of abnormal screening results, does the Wales Audit Office have a separate occupational health provision that employees can be referred to? A. The Wales Audit Office has an occupational health consultant in place for referrals.

All completed questionnaires must be emailed to Legal.Tenders@wao.gov.uk by the 18 September 2009. Those potential providers short listed at the PQQ stage will be invited to tender for the Framework Agreement.
