Shared Learning Webinar
Responding to the Climate Emergency in Wales

Be the first to hear the findings of Audit Wales’ Decarbonisation Baseline Review.

About this event

Join us at 10am on the 16th of May and be the first to hear the findings of Audit Wales’ Decarbonisation Baseline Review.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s recent reports have painted a bleak picture of the present, with potentially devastating effects on the future. It is now or never if we are to limit global warming to 1.5C.

According to the IPCC, moving away from the current model of consumption and fossil fuel use is imperative. So public bodies have a key role to play in reducing their own carbon emissions, and leading wider decarbonisation efforts in their communities.

Many of Wales’ public services have declared a climate emergency. But how are they preparing to achieve the Welsh Government’s 2030 carbon reduction plans?

Have they got the information and the leadership required to deliver the required carbon reduction at the pace that’s needed?

Be the first to hear the Auditor General's emerging findings on public sector action to decarbonise.

At the webinar on 16th of May we will reveal our initial findings, and ask attendees:

  • Do you recognise our findings?
  • Have we missed anything important?
  • What now needs to happen in Wales to ensure the 2030 targets can be met?
