This means that the recruitment process moves to its final stage, which is formal appointment by Her Majesty the Queen.

Adrian Crompton, who works as Director of Assembly Business at the National Assembly for Wales, will replace the current Auditor General, Huw Vaughan Thomas, when he retires in July.
