This report sets out the findings from the Auditor General’s 2024 review of the arrangements for managing demand for urgent and emergency care at Hywel Dda University Health Board.
Overall, we found that changes to urgent and emergency care services are leading to some improvements in managing demand, supported by reasonable plans and effective oversight. However, poor performance in areas including ambulance handover delays continues, and there is a need to strengthen staff and patient engagement.
