We were delighted to support CIPFA by hosting a workshop at our Cardiff office on 2 June, focusing on the theme of preventative investment in Wales.
The event brought together key stakeholders and experts to discuss the importance of prevention in policy and practice.
The workshop commenced with an opening address by Adrian Crompton, setting the stage for a series of insightful presentations and discussions. Marie Brousseau-Navarro, Deputy Commissioner and Director for Health at The Office of the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales, delivered a compelling talk on the Prevention and the Well-being of Future Generations Act.
Catryn Holzinger, Well-being of Future Generations Manager at Audit Wales, highlighted the findings of the recent Audit Wales report 'No time to lose: Lessons from our work under the Well-being of Future Generations Act'.
Zachary Scott, Policy Researcher for Prevention at CIPFA, explored the practical aspects of turning policy into practice with a presentation on preventative investment in local government. This was followed by a case study on Rhondda Cynon Taf, presented by Paul Griffiths, Finance Director, Amy Lloyd, Research Fellow at the Wales Centre for Public Policy, and Zoe Lancelott, Head of the Rhondda Cynon Taf Health Determinants Research Collaboration.
The workshop concluded with a panel discussion titled ‘Connecting the dots,’ moderated by Eleanor Roy, Policy Manager for Health and Integration at CIPFA. The panel featured Marie Brousseau-Navarro, Catryn Holzinger, Zachary Scott, and Zoe Lancelott, who engaged in an informative discussion.
